DESCRIPTION:

Los Farallones del Citará, is located on the western mountain range between Antioquia and Chocó territories. Near the municipality of Ciudad Bolívar is the most used access to ascend to its maximum summit, the San Nicolás hill, with its 4020 meters above sea level that make it the highest mountain in Antioquia.

This great tour will be divided into 3 days, the first day we will depart from the municipality of Ciudad Bolívar moving in 4x4 jeeps to the Farallones village where we begin our expedition at 1,845 meters above sea level, on a complex and technical route with a high slope and a path full of natural obstacles, steep mountains, rocks, roots, lush forests, and the cold paramo ecosystem make this expedition a challenge suitable for the most adventurous hikers.

Due to the complexity of the terrain, there is no possibility of porting on mules, so each participant must take their own equipment to the base camp located at 3,245 meters above sea level.

On the second day we will have the opportunity to see a great sunrise and then continue with the ascent to the summit of Cerro San Nicolás, passing through an ecosystem of humid paramo and rocky terrain, our maximum objective will be in sight after about 4-5 hours of climbing. constant ascent, we will enjoy a few moments at the summit and then descend to base camp.

On the last day very early we will prepare for the descent from the base camp to the starting point, where we will take our transport to return to Ciudad Bolívar.
