DESCRIPTION:
 

The páramo del Sol, one of the best preserved ecosystems of this type in Colombia, is located on the western mountain range near the municipality of Urrao, it is part of a complex of páramo and high Andean forest ecosystems, of which the municipalities of Abriaquí, Caicedo and Frontino.

This great tour will be divided into 3 days, we will start by entering the Proaves reserve where we will be able to see approximately 12 different species of hummingbirds, some of them endemic, our main objective will be to reach the top of bells, the maximum height of the páramo with 3,987 meters above sea level, where in addition to the great view over the western mountain range and the municipality of Urrao we can visit the lagoon and the polylepis forest, we will also observe a large number of frailejones characteristic of this ecosystem._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_

We offer all the professional equipment to make this expedition safe, minimizing the impact on the ecosystem with the use of NDR techniques, and portable toilets, to make this a great sustainable experience.

Trekking base camp- Alto de Campanas- Laguna- Base camp

• Day 4:

Trekking base camp- el fourteen- path El Chuscal

Transfer Vereda Chuscal-Urrao.

Arrival in Urrao: approximately 3:00 pm.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

​

•   Have no knee or ankle problems, be in healthy physical condition. 

​

• Bring enough food for 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners in the mountains (non-perishable and/or canned) 

• Bring a gas camping stove and kitchen utensils

​

•  Trekking boots, or plastic boots (pantaneras).

•  Sunscreen.

​

•   Sportswear for cold weather, preferably quick drying,
